The Dad Ball League is open exclusively to fathers or legal guardians of students enrolled in NYSAIS (New York State Association of Independent Schools). All participants must be 21 years or older and have a completed waiver on file before playing.

2. Do I need to sign a waiver before participating?

Yes. All players are required to read and sign the Dad Ball League Waiver of Liability prior to entering the gym or participating in any session. The waiver acknowledges the inherent risks of playing basketball and releases the League, organizers, and facility partners from liability related to participation DBL Waiver of Liability Final.

3. What does the waiver cover?

By signing the waiver, you confirm that you are voluntarily participating and assuming all known and unknown risks, including injury, illness, or property damage. The waiver releases the Dad Ball League and its affiliates from claims arising from participation, to the fullest extent permitted by New York law DBL Waiver of Liability Final.

4. How are games structured each week?

Game format adapts based on attendance:

  • 20+ players: Full-court games with a referee and two 20-minute halves

  • 10–19 players: Open run format, self-officiated, games to 21 points

  • Fewer than 10 players: Half-court 3v3 (or adjusted) games to 15 points

The League may adjust formats to ensure fair play, safety, and quality runs.

5. Can I bring a guest to play with me?

Yes. Guests are welcome through the Pay-Per-Session + Guest option. Guests must be 18 years or older, complete the waiver prior to playing, and follow all League rules and conduct guidelines.

6. What happens if a player violates League rules or displays poor sportsmanship?

Dad Ball League emphasizes respect and safety. Unsportsmanlike or unsafe behavior may result in removal from a session, suspension, or loss of playing privileges without refund, at the discretion of League organizers DBL Waiver of Liability Final.

7. Where does Dad Ball League take place?

Unless otherwise noted, all sessions are held at The Allen-Stevenson School, located at 132 East 78th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The gym is easily accessible by subway, bus, car, or taxi. Detailed directions and transit options are available on the website.

8. Is Dad Ball League merchandise available?

Yes! Official Dad Ball League apparel—including shirts and jerseys—will be available throughout the season. New gear drops will be announced on the website and via email, so be sure to check back regularly.
